Why have a ceremony led by you rather than a registrar? 

I meet with you and then write unique, bespoke ceremonies which really reflect you as a couple, with no rules or regulations. Unlike using the registration service, your ceremony can be held anywhere, at a venue of your choice licensed or not.

I will be a friendly face waiting for you at the end of the aisle, rather than an unknown registrar who you would not have met before the day of your ceremony. 

A registrar is a government official and can perform ceremonies only in venues licensed for marriages using specified contractual wording to legalise it. No spiritual or religious content can be used and they are bound by tight time constraints. They are there to undertake a legal contract.

Celebrants are there to tell the world what you mean to each other and get your celebrations started in style!

Will we meet before the ceremony?

Wherever this is possible then I always meet my couples for a fun face -to-face planning meeting. Sometimes twice! If you are based abroad or meeting is logistically difficult, then we have Zoom, Skype or WhatsApp video calls to use.

Can I have a ceremony rehearsal? 

Yes, you will have to organise a date and time with your venue first. Additional charges apply for me to attend your rehearsal.

Where can I hold my ceremony? 

Anywhere you like! Unlike the Registration Service you can have a celebrant led ceremony anywhere that takes your fancy!

Do you offer same-sex marriages? 

Love is love is love is love……..YES!

We have unusual ceremony ideas, is that okay?

Absolutely. It's your day. To celebrate you as a couple and reflect your personalities. Your ceremony should be as unique as you are!

Can I include my pet?

Yes…but don’t forget they might not want to be there as much as you want them to be!

Is my celebrant ceremony legally binding?

No. You will need to register your marriage in a Register Office before your celebrant wedding ceremony in order to make it legally binding.

Depending on the area the cost is in the region of £57. This can be done at any time before your celebrant ceremony, so you can get the legalities out of the way to enjoy your big day!

What areas do you cover? 

I have bases in The Cotswolds and Devon, any venues outside of this South West area may incur travel expenses…just ask!

Can I write my own vows?

Yes! We can choose these together and then you will repeat them after me at the ceremony or you can even write secret promises for one another. I can help you write them if you need a hand and then one the big day, you’ll surprise your partner with some wonderful, personally written vows and promises. These can be funny, touching and emotional. A great way to say what you really mean!

Can I include any religious or faith based content? 

The choice is yours. If it is important to you to include a hymn or a prayer, we can discuss this and incorporate it into your ceremony.

How do I choose any readings or poems?

Lets chat. I have great ideas of how to choose relevant readings to compliment your ceremony.
