It's your wedding day, you look amazing and have spent months thinking about your clothes, hair, make-up and flowers…of course you want photographs of it all. Some people believe that paying a professional photographer is a waste of money…phones and cameras are brilliant nowadays and anyone can take amazing pictures. Right?…Absolutely not.

A modern wedding photographer is unobtrusive, quiet and worth their weight in gold! A photographer who takes documentary style shots can capture really special moments throughout the day and quite often you’ll forget that they are around..long gone are the days of painful hours posing in family groups!

Here's another really important thing to think about..as a celebrant I am often asked to request guests to put away their phones and cameras for the duration of the ceremony. It minimises beeps,

squeaks and flashes and lets the couple and their guests concentrate and enjoy the ceremony. The professional photographer is there, capturing it all and your guests, most probably, will be able to see a lot of these photos on social media when the photographer has sent them to you.

On a personal level, I watched my eldest daughters uni’ graduation through my camera…and I regret it. Sure I have hundreds of photos of the back of people's heads, but I wished I had the real memory in my head and bought the £10 professional shot that was offer.
